Lawful Basis for Data Collection and Processing
You will have given your explicit consent to allow Financing First Limited to process and retain your personal information in accordance with our Use of Information statement and this Privacy Policy.
You will have freely provided your personal information by completing our website application form or enquiry form, or sending us a completed paper application by post, electronically or via your appointed healthcare provider such as a Dentist, Optician, Audiologist or Cosmetician who will have a formal business relationship with the Lender(s) with whom we process your application information details. This includes any subsequent information you have freely provided in order to assist the Lender(s) in arriving at a decision about your finance application.

Our Agreements with the Lenders require us to retain your information in accordance with their Privacy Policies which can be viewed at their respective websites. Additionally, our Lenders require information to be retained for specified periods in order to comply with their obligations under any prevailing legal and regulatory requirements such as Money Laundering Regulations.

Signed credit agreements returned to Financing First Limited electronically or by post, are sent on to the Lenders. However, copies are retained in our secured storage as part of our agreements with the Lenders.

Personal Information held on our Application Database – Retained for 6 years
We only store your Application Identification Number, Name and Title on our Application Database.

How we collect information
Personal information is collected by Financing First Limited from you when you complete an enquiry, application or registration form, or e-mail us your details.
When you browse our website, our web-server may also automatically log your IP address (this is your computer’s individual identification number that is assigned to your computer when connected to the Internet). Unless we suspect fraud, we do not use your IP address to identify you personally. We also collect other information automatically about your visit to our site. Information obtained in this way, such as demographic data and browsing patterns, is only used in aggregate form – i.e. your individual identity is not revealed.

How we use and share information

We process personal information collected for the purposes of:

  • Processing your application for finance with no more than two Lenders who will use automated decisioning tools in assessing your application. If required, they will also undertake an additional manual assessment of your application.
  • Managing, dealing with and responding to enquiries;
  • Testing our systems.

We also use information in aggregate form (where no individual user is identified):

  • to build up marketing profiles
  • to aid strategic development
  • to find out how visitors are using the website
  • to ensure we deliver the best possible user experience

We may share your information with others where:


  • we have your permission;

  • we have to do so or are allowed to do so by law;

  • we have a duty to the public to reveal the information;
  • or
 our legitimate interests mean we must share the information.

Who Your Information is shared with
At Financing First Limited, we have Trading Agreements with two Lenders:

  1. Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC. Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Financial Services Register no. 704348. Registered office: Hitachi Capital House, Thorpe Road, Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, TW18 3HP. Registered in Cardiff under company no. 1630491.

  2. Shawbrook Bank Limited is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority under registration number 204574. Registered office: Lutea House, Warley Hill Business Park, The Drive, Great Warley, Brentwood, Essex CM13 3BE.  Registered in England and Wales under number 388466.

In accordance with our Use of Information Statement, we may share information about you with your healthcare provider.

Your healthcare provider will have a Trading Agreement with either or both of these Lenders, and your information will be shared with the Lender(s) in order to assist them in assessing Your application and managing any ongoing relationship.

Additionally, where we are legally required to do so, we may have to share your information with Law Enforcement or Regulatory Agencies.

How we use cookies
If you visit our website, Financing First Limited may gather a certain amount of anonymous information about users which does not personally identify you, but which may be helpful for improving the services we offer.

  • The Right to restrict processing – you have the right to suppress or block further processing of your data. We will continue to store your information in accordance with our policies but will undertake to not process your information any further.
  • The Right to data portability - In certain circumstances, you have the right to obtain and reuse the personal data that you originally provided to us for your own purposes. Where we provide you with your data, it will be sent in a machine readable, open format such as a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file.
  • The Right to object – you have the right to object to your information being used for:
• processing based on legitimate interests or the performance of a task in the public interest/exercise of official authority (including profiling);
• direct marketing (including profiling); and
• processing for purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics.


At Financing First Limited, we only process information as described in the Section – How We Use and Share Information. We do not undertake any Direct Marketing.

  • Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling – At Financing First Limited, we process your application information details with Lenders who rely on automated decision-making as their primary decision-making process. As part of your explicit consent to allow us to process your details with our Lender(s), you agree to allow them to use automated decision-making Processes to assess your application for finance.
However, you have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, and if you do not receive the decision you were expecting, you can ask the Lender(s) directly or ask us to request that the Lender undertakes a further manual review of your application. As part of any manual review, the Lender(s) may request additional information to enable them to fully re-consider their decision. This additional information could be further proof of ID or address to enable them to confirm your Identity or request more detailed financial information such as bank statements to provide assurance that granting the loan would not place you in undue financial difficulty.
